Introducing Millville Chiropractor Dr. Martin Hahn

"I was at a true crossroads in my life, when I had to make a decision about which career path I was going to take. I was balancing the possibility of opening up my own restaurant, as I had studied all facets of the industry with a completely different path: chiropractic.

"Looking back, I can honestly say that I made the right decision because, for the first time in my life, I love going to work everyday. The privilege of helping patients trying to achieve their health goals and then seeing them succeed in that goal is a very rewarding and humbling experience.

Millville Chiropractor, Dr. Martin Hahn"What ultimately led me down the right path – the path that my gut instinct was telling me to pursue – was the inspiration I received from my neighbor growing up. He’s a chiropractor who not only helped my family numerous times with health problems, most notably my mother, but it was obvious how genuinely happy he was with his life. I vividly remember him greeting me with a daily "hello" as he walked to work with a smile on his face. How often do you see that?

"This left quite an impression on me so I decided to pursue my acceptance into chiropractic college."

Dr. Hahn began his pre-chiropractic education at Camden County Community College where he studied the basic sciences, math and english courses including biology, chemistry, physics, algebra, trigonometry, calculus and organic chemistry. He then went on to attend Life University Chiropractic College in Marietta Ga. During his four years at Life, courses included a major emphasis on human anatomy and physiology, human dissection, neurology, biochemistry, x-ray, diagnosis, pathology, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Life University Chiropractic College Student & Public Clinics. After graduating in 2000, Dr. Hahn returned to the NJ area and worked for seven years as an associate prior to establishing his practice.

"Neurology was definitely the most challenging of these courses as we all know that the human brain is the unknown phenomenon that even our finest scientists are continually studying and striving to understand.

"If there was one major goal in life that I would want to achieve through my practice, it would be happiness. I truly believe that I’ve achieved this goal because I can honestly say for the first time in my life that I love to go to work.

"The philosophy of our office is one that has stood the test of time since the existence of the chiropractic profession: Wellness through maintenance! Chiropractors have preached this concept for over a century but it wasn't until the 21st century that people are realizing that our 20th century methods of healthcare are a thing of the past and no longer are they a viable model of education in our society. The educated individual is now studying proper diet and exercise. Understanding the human body is no longer foreign to the lay person. With the advent of the internet, people are more than ever, up to date on the medical lingo and conditions plaguing the human body on a day-to-day basis. With this in mind, the chiropractic philosophy is the education of the human spine and the most effective way to maintain and prevent its decay. The answer to this problem is creating a wellness concept through chiropractic adjustments.

"Key values and rules in our office are to permit every patient to control their destination with their care. We will provide as much education and as many recommendations as possible but each individual being treated in our facility must determine his/her own path and level of health goals that they wish to achieve in life.

"Patients that respond the best in our practice are the ones who have tried every method of care prior to coming in our office. They have tried two to three rounds of physical therapy, taken pain medications, tried epidural injections, and attempted nerve blocks in a pain management office. Unfortunately, all of these methods failed. These are the people who devote their full attention to the healthcare of the future.

"The most moving, soul satisfying and deeply fulfilling aspects of practice are succeeding with the individuals who are the worst of the worst. Their last resort after attempting all other forms of care, would be a surgical procedure. Thanks to discovering chiropractic, they realize that there is an alternative to unnecessary surgery. The smile on their faces as they begin to reap the benefits of care is the true fulfillment of practicing in this great profession."

Dr. Hahn is married to Shari-Ann and they have three beautiful children that highlight their lives together. Family outings often include trips to the beach, zoo, parks and the movies.

In his personal time away from the office, Dr. Hahn enjoys going to a ball game, traveling, and learning the secrets to a good vegetable garden. Time always seems to pass to quickly when he’s out on the lake trying to catch that big bass or out back on a cool night sitting by the camp fire.

Dr. Hahn has received chiropractic care on a regular basis since 1995. He routinely schedules his maintenance visit once or twice per month. Dr. Hahn’s family is all under chiropractic care; his children all received their first adjustment within minutes after birth as it’s well known that a severe amount of stress is placed on the spine during the birthing process.

"My children respond wonderfully to a number of common ailments after an adjustment. Most notably, their ear infections resolve within a maximum of two or three treatments. Our antibiotic is the chiropractic adjustment."

Exercise and diet is an essential part of life in the Hahn household. Dr. Hahn trains at his local gym three days per week with weight training, under-water workouts, and core stability training on the gymnic ball. His family attempts to eat a healthy diet consisting of whole grains, vegetables, and lean proteins. They occasionally like to enjoy a quality bar of chocolate.

The Hahn household has not taken a pharmaceutically manufactured product since Dr. Hahn began his training at Life.

"We believe in the age-old fact that time cures the common cold and flu. Your body manufactures these drugs naturally. Too often, people run to the doctor for that magic pill. As I was saying earlier, this is the 20th century way of thinking. We don’t completely discount that route but we will save it for a rainy day when it becomes an absolute medical necessity. At that time, we know that our body will use the product properly rather than overusing it and building an immunity to its effect.

"I consider myself an excellent listener and hope I get the opportunity to meet you in person and discuss your specific health challenge. Give our office a call or email me with the link below."

Dr. Martin Asks some important questions of interest to Millville residents - Chiropractor Millville Dr. Martin Asks...

Will chiropractic adjustments make my spine too loose?
No. Only the spinal joints that are fixated and "locked up" receive attention. The occasional spinal joint that moves too much is passed over so weakened muscles and ligaments can strengthen and heal.
How could chiropractic help a stomach problem?
Chiropractic works by locating and reducing areas of the spine compromising nerve communications between your brain and your body. If nerves to or from your stomach are irritated, your stomach won't work right. Chiropractors find the source of the interference, reduce it and allow your body to work as designed.
